If the home you are looking to buy does have high levels, it can be reduced with a mitigation system. Knowing the level before purchasing means you can negotiate to have it installed by the seller. Waiting until after you have closed, means it will be up to you to test and mitigate for radon.
One concern that some prospective buyers have, is will testing slow down the buying process? In order to get accurate results, a test must be set for 48 hours.
